We have had a relatively quiet weekend. We didn't really do much yesterday, we had a little walk that really went nowhere. Then I took Laura back home and went to town. I purchased Bonk, A Modern History of Britain and The Tories by Alan Clarke. That is about 1000 pages of reading for me to attack over the few weeks.

Today we went for a drive and ended up in Bicester. There is not much there. Well there was a Retail Outlet with loads of little shops and parking for about 14 cars. It took about 30 minutes to get a parking space. The place was very picturesque.A lot of the shops were not really all that cheap, or rather the stuff was all designer stuff and so even discounted it was not really cheap. I bought a pair of work shoes and some shoes for Laura. As luck would have it I wasn't charged for Laura's shoes. Bonus. Unlike [livejournal.com profile] joolsmd I am celebrating the untrained staff in the retail environment. Free plastic bag too. Laura bought some glasses, Boudin ones.

Apparently Top Gear is on tonight. It seems to have a massive following, but it sort of reminds me of a Question of Sport in that I just can't understand the appeal.
